Dr. Amy Prieto Chief Executive Officer
The Prieto Battery, Inc. team is led by Dr. Amy Prieto. She has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Colorado State University since 2005. Dr. Prieto holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and completed her postdoctoral research training at Harvard University, where she measured the electronic particles of single molecules and nanoparticles. She is recognized as one of the world's experts in nanowire chemistry. Her recent research includes new architectures for high surface area lithium ion batteries, the synthesis of nanoparticles of earth abundant, nontoxic elements for advanced photovoltaics, and the development of chemical vapor deposition methods for novel nanostructures. Her new technology is being patented in partnership with Colorado State University. While at Harvard she was named one of the first L'Oréal USA for Women in Science Fellows and has also just been named the 2011 ExxonMobil Solid State Chemistry Faculty Fellow; this prestigious honor is given to one scientist who is chosen each year out of a national field. She is the author of 23 peer-reviewed manuscripts, one patent application, and three provisional patents.
Monty Seitz Chief Financial Officer Monty has extensive experience as the chief financial officer for high tech start-ups, including a strong background in manufacturing, manufacturing and financial systems, and managing firms through high growth. Monty has as BS in Finance and Accounting from Penn State, and a MBA from the University of Colorado. Katie Hoffner VP Marketing and Strategic Alliances Katie has decades of experience developing and refining global brand messaging, assembling worldwide marketing teams, securing high-level investment, and building strategic partnerships. She holds a BA from Sweet Briar College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude, and a MBA from Thunderbird.
